Who We Are

United Community Credit Union was established in 1950 to serve the financial needs of the employees of Galena Park Independent School District. Today, United Community remains a member-owned, not for profit financial cooperative now serving the East Houston community.

At United Community, we put forth every effort to enable our members to become financially self-sufficient and successful, and we place high importance on consumer education and the teaching of financial responsibility. United Community is committed to the credit union principles of “Not For Profit, Not For Charity, But For Service” and our philosophy of “People Helping People.”

  • Stop by and remember to bring $5 for your membership share and a State Issued ID

Once your account has been opened, you are a member for life even if you change jobs, move across town or relocate out of the county. United Community members receive access to benefits such as competitive loan and deposit rates, FREE 24/7 online account access and more!

United Community believes giving back to the community supports the credit union philosophy of “People Helping people.” Since United Community is a not-for-profit organization, we support area service organizations through time, talents and dollars and are always looking for new ways to give back to the community.
