Traditional IRA: a long-term savings plan that allows you to build a retirement fund on which you defer taxes on your earnings until you make a withdrawal.
Roth IRA: enables you to invest after tax dollars today, let the investment of your earnings grow tax-deferred and take qualifying withdrawals tax free. If you satisfy an IRA five-year holding period and satisfy one of four qualifying events, those tax-deferred earning become tax-free. Roth IRA/s afford not tax-deductible contribution.
Coverdell Education Savings Account (ESA): is a plan that allows regular contributions to be made until the designated beneficiary reaches age 18. Funds must be used for education by the beneficiary before age 30. Contributions can be made by the beneficiary, parents, grandparents and other interested persons. For eligibility information, or to determine whether or not you qualify to open or contribute to a Coverdell ESA, speak with your tax advisor.
