Current members will be allowed to submit one entry. Each new member will also be allowed to submit one entry. Upon opening an eligible service during the sweepstakes period, an additional 10 entries will automatically be awarded to the member. Limit 11 total entries per member. Non-members within our field of membership and current members may enter manually without opening an account or service by submitting a handwritten 3 1/2" x 5" card with your name, address, and phone number to: "UCCU Cruise Sweepstakes", Attention: Marketing, P.O. Box 606, Galena Park, TX 77547. Limit one entry per person by the manual entry method. Limit one manual entry per 3 1/2” x 5” card, and one manual entry per envelope. All entries must be received by the close of business on July 30, 2010. The credit union will not be required to acknowledge entries that are undelivered, late, lost, stolen, damaged, mutilated, illegible, incomplete, returned to sender or misdirected, and will not be responsible for any condition caused by events beyond the control of the credit union that may cause the promotion to be disrupted or corrupted. The prize consists of a $1,000 Carnival Cruise Lines Gift Certificate to be used for travel as the winner sees fit. The prize will be awarded at a drawing held at United Community Credit Union’s Galena Park branch on August 6, 2010. The random drawing for the prize will be conducted from among all entries received in accordance with these Official Sweepstakes Rules. The winner need not be present to win. In lieu of Gift Certificate, the winner may take an alternate prize of $1000 in cash, in which case, the Gift Certificate will remain the property of UCCU and will not be awarded to any other entrant. No other alternate prizes will be considered or awarded. The Gift Certificate is subject to separate terms and conditions set by Carnival Cruise Lines. The Gift Certificate is not replaceable and has no cash value if lost, stolen, altered, expired, photocopied or reproduced in any way. If the winner accepts the Gift Certificate, it cannot be returned or exchanged for cash at the credit union. The Gift Certificate is valid for its face value in U.S. dollars, only on Carnival Cruise Lines and can be used towards the purchase of any Carnival Cruise or as a credit on board a Carnival ship. The Gift Certificate is not valid on any other cruise line, including any affiliate of Carnival Cruise Lines. The Gift Certificate is not transferrable. The credit union will not be responsible for (1) any act or omission by Carnival Cruise Lines (including cancellation, early return, mechanical breakdown or change of route of the cruise), or its failure to provide any of the benefits associated with the Gift Certificate, (2) any loss, liability, cost or expense incurred by the prize winner in any way connected with travel to, from or during the cruise, (3) the quality of the accommodations, food, facilities, entertainment or excursions during the cruise, or (4) any conditions the prize winner may encounter during the cruise, including but not limited to weather, travel restrictions or criminal acts. The winner will be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and a Liability Release prior to receiving the Gift Certificate or the alternate prize. The winner must be 21 years of age or older, and the winner and any additional guest(s) must satisfy Carnival’s additional requirements for passage. The travel companion of the winner also will be required to sign a Liability Release prior to travel. Travel companion must be eighteen (18) years of age or older at time of travel to participate or winner must be parent or legal guardian of travel companion and sign Liability Release on travel companion's behalf. Odds of winning depend entirely on the number of entries received. The credit union will attempt to notify the contest winner by telephone and/or certified mail or overnight delivery. Regardless of notification, the contest winner will have 10 days to claim their prize by contacting the credit union and signing an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release (including their travel companion). If the winner does not claim the prize within 10 days, for any reason, the winner will be disqualified and the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner, selected via a second random drawing. All decisions by the credit union will be final and binding. Winner must be in good standing with the credit union to receive prize. The credit union reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant who has tampered with the entry process or the prize drawing, or who is otherwise in violation of these rules. The credit union further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify this promotion if not capable of completion as planned and to select winners from the remaining eligible entries received prior to cancellation, termination or modification or promotion. The prize will be awarded based on all eligible entries received throughout promotion period. The winner must complete the travel awarded in this contest within 12 months of winning the prize and all travel is subject to availability and advance reservations. All federal, state and local taxes will be the responsibility of the winner. Winner will be required to provide their taxpayer identification number, if requested. Employees, volunteers, suppliers and agents of United Community Credit Union and members of their immediate families are not eligible to enter or win. By entering the sweepstakes, participants agree to be bound by these Official Sweepstakes Rules. Any violation or non-compliance with these Official Sweepstakes Rules will result in disqualification. The credit union reserves the right to use the winner's name and photograph for promotional purposes. Winners may be required to execute a publicity release. |
