Debit cards make it easier to make purchases and payments, but they also make it easier to overdraw a checking account and incur fees associated with overdraft privilege services.

As a result, federal lawmakers have created new rules governing overdraft privilege programs that are now in effect. This new rule requires all members to act now in order to take advantage of our overdraft privilege service.

United Community Credit Union’s overdraft privilege is designed with your protection and convenience in mind. The vast majority of our members do not overdraw their accounts and incur fees, however life doesn’t always go according to plan, and
overdrafts do occur. Without overdraft privilege, your ATM and everyday debit cardtransactions may be declined if you attempt to make a transaction without sufficient funds.

For existing accounts:If you do not act now, your ATM and everyday debit card transactions will not be protected under United Community.
